Riding the High Iron

Way back in the ‘70’s, Ned spent a summer making a documentary about the hobo life.  He rode the rails on the "High-Line", the old Great Northern Route from St. Paul, Minn. to Seattle Wash.  2000 miles in two trips riding freights and shooting interviews. Ned was joined in the effort by Ed Matney who shot with a super-8mm film camera.  Tim Hawthorne did a lot of the ground-to-train filming on 16mm.  Dale Sonnenberg did sound.  Great people to be with.  A memorable adventure.  The film was featured on an award-winning, weekly, prime-time news magazine series on WCCO, the CBS station in Minneapolis.  Come ride with us.
